- Description
- The T-90M is a Main Battle Tank and the latest major upgrade of the Russian T-90 series, with a new turret, improved armour, and modernized fire control; it has been in production since the 2010s and is used by Russian and allied forces. Weighing 50 tonnes with a three-man crew, it is powered by a ChTZ V-92S2F diesel producing 1,130 horsepower for 22.6 hp/t and reaches 61.33 km/h forward (reverse remains 4 km/h, typical of Soviet-style transmissions).
Main armament is the 125mm 2A46M-5 smoothbore with an autoloader (6.8-second cycle), firing APFSDS, HEAT, HE-Frag, and 9M119M1 ATGMs. A coaxial 7.62mm PKT and a commander’s 12.7mm KORD complete the armament. The T-90M has a laser warning system, stabilizer, smoke grenades, and engine smoke; the gunner and commander both have laser rangefinders, second-generation thermals, and fire control with lead and tracking. This vehicle features three addons: 3BM59, Model 2025 and ПНМ-Т. The 3BM59 addon costs 250 points and replaces the stock 3BM60 round with the 3BM59 Depleted Uranium (DU) APFSDS; while this technically results in a negligible loss of 2 mm of maximum penetration (decreasing from 580 mm to 578 mm), it introduces a 2x spall multiplier that significantly increases post-penetration damage within the enemy fighting compartment. The Model 2025 conversion costs 1,000 points and equips the sophisticated Arena-M APS, providing the T-90M with 360-degree horizontal and vertical protection against all incoming ATGMs and chemical energy (CE) rounds, while simultaneously adding extra ERA to the hull sides and rear turret for an unparalleled level of survivability. Finally, the ПНМ-Т addon costs 100 points and swaps the stock Gen 2 optics for Gen 3 thermals, offering superior visual clarity for easier target spotting.
