- Description
- The Leopard 2A4 Evolution is a Main Battle Tank and an upgrade package applied to the baseline Leopard 2A4, adding improved ammunition and survivability while retaining the original hull and L/44 gun. The “Evolution” concept was offered as a cost-effective way to extend the life of existing 2A4 fleets. In-game it is a 58.7 t tracked vehicle with a crew of four. The MTU MB 873 Ka-501 produces 1,500 hp for 25.6 hp/t and 72 km/h.
Main armament is the 120mm Rh120 L/44 with DM53A1 and DM12, backed by a coaxial and loader’s 7.62mm MG3. The gunner has a laser rangefinder, FCS with lead, and Gen 1 green thermals (12x); the commander has a laser CITV at 2x and 8x. The turret is stabilised and fitted with smoke grenades.
