- Description
- The T-62 Berezhok is a Fire Support Vehicle based on the T-62 chassis, with the original turret replaced by the Berezhok (B05M01) weapon station mounting a 30 mm autocannon, grenade launcher, and 9M133 Kornet ATGM. The conversion was developed to give older T-62 hulls a second life as fire support and anti-armour platforms, similar in concept to the BMPT Terminator but on a lighter, cheaper chassis. A crew of three — driver, gunner, and commander — operates the 30-tonne tracked vehicle, powered by a ChTZ V-46-5M diesel (690 hp, 23 hp/t) for 50 km/h.
The turret carries a stabilized 30mm 2A42M autocannon, a 30mm AG-30 grenade launcher, a coaxial 7.62mm PKT, and a 9M133 Kornet launcher (9M133 and 9M133F-1 rounds); the gunner has a laser rangefinder, FCS with lead and tracking, Gen 2 thermals, and 2.5x/12x zoom. The commander has a CITV; smoke grenades and engine smoke are fitted.
