- The Tiger P is a Heavy Tank based on the Porsche-designed competitor to the Henschel Tiger I, formally the VK 45.01 (P); Henschel’s design was chosen for production, and most Porsche hulls were later converted into the Ferdinand tank destroyer. The Tiger P uses a petrol-electric drive with twin Porsche Type 101 engines totaling 612 horsepower, giving 10.2 hp/t; at 60 tonnes with a five-man crew it reaches 31 km/h in both forward and reverse with neutral steering.
Armament matches the production Tiger I: the 88 mm KwK36 cannon with a 7.84-second reload and two 7.92mm MG34 machine guns (coaxial and bow). The vehicle has smoke grenades but no main-gun stabilizer; the gunner’s sight is a 2.5x telescope. The Porsche Tiger’s complex drivetrain and rear-mounted turret made it a maintenance liability in reality, a trait often reflected in its portrayal in games.
