- Description
- The AFT-10 is an Anti Tank Missile Carrier developed in China and based on the ZBD-04A infantry fighting vehicle chassis, providing heavy anti-armour capability with fire-and-forget and manually guided HJ-10 missiles. The system entered People's Liberation Army service in the 2010s and is used by mechanized units to engage armored targets at long range. The vehicle is tracked and amphibious (4 km/h on water), weighs 18.7 tonnes, and has a seating capacity of ten — driver, gunner, commander, and seven passengers — making it suitable as an IFV-style platform. A Type 6V150 diesel produces 670 horsepower for an exceptional 35.8 hp/t power-to-weight ratio and a top speed of 70 km/h forward and 17.2 km/h reverse, with an automatic transmission and neutral steering.
The turret mounts the HJ-10 launcher with eight missiles in fire-and-forget or manual guide modes, and is stabilized and fitted with a laser warning system, smoke grenades, a laser rangefinder, Gen 2 white-hot thermals, and a fire control system with tracking.
