- The XM8 is a Light Tank developed in the United States as part of the Armored Gun System and later the M8 Armored Gun System program, which sought a lightweight, air-droppable vehicle capable of delivering 105 mm firepower for airborne and light forces. The design never entered full production but influenced later light tank concepts. In-game it is a tracked vehicle weighing 18.5 tonnes, crewed by three — driver, gunner, and commander. The Detroit 6V92TA diesel produces 580 horsepower for a strong 31.4 hp/t power-to-weight ratio and a top speed of 72 km/h, with neutral steering and an automatic gearbox.
Main armament is the stabilized 105mm XM35 cannon fed by an autoloader, with a coaxial 7.62mm M240 and a commander 12.7mm M2; the gunner sight has a laser rangefinder, fire control system, and Gen 1 green thermals at 3.3x and 10x zoom. Smoke grenades round out the defensive fit. This vehicle features three addons: Level 3 Armour, Airdrop and Net Camo. The Level 3 Armour addon costs 1,000 points and outfits the entire vehicle with additional composite armour blocks, significantly bolstering the XM8's survivability against all projectile types. The Airdrop addon costs 1,500 points and provides the unique tactical ability to deploy the vehicle at almost any location on the map, facilitating aggressive flanking manoeuvres or the rapid capture of distant objectives. The Net Camo addon costs 100 points and applies camouflage netting to the hull and gun to obscure the tank's visual profile. The Level 3 Armour addon cannot be used with the other addons.
