The VK 16.02 is a Light Tank, the wartime designation for the German Leopard reconnaissance vehicle project (VK 16.02 Leopard), which was developed in 1942 with sloped armour and a 50 mm gun; the design was cancelled in favor of the heavier Panther. In-game it is a tracked vehicle weighing 21.9 tonnes with a crew of four — driver, gunner, commander, and one passenger — and is powered by an MB HL157P engine producing 550 horsepower for 25.1 hp/t and a top speed of 45 km/h forward and 7.5 km/h backward.
Armament consists of the 50mm KwK39 cannon and a coaxial 7.92mm MG34 machine gun; the turret has smoke grenades but no stabilizer or modern fire control, and the gunner uses a 2.5x telescope sight. Light armour and good mobility suit it to reconnaissance and flanking rather than head-on engagements.
