- The Type 90 is a Main Battle Tank (Japanese designation Type 90 Kyū-maru), developed by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries for the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force and entering service in 1990; it was Japan’s first modern MBT with a 120 mm smoothbore, autoloader, and advanced fire control. In-game it is a tracked vehicle weighing 50.2 tonnes with a crew of three — driver, gunner, and commander — and features active suspension with adjustable ride height and pitch. The MHI 10ZG32WT diesel produces 1,500 horsepower for 29.9 hp/t and a top speed of 73 km/h forward and 34 km/h backward, with neutral steering and an automatic gearbox.
Main armament is the stabilized 120mm Type 90 L/44 cannon with an autoloader, plus a coaxial 7.62mm Type 74 and a commander’s 12.7mm M2 machine gun. The turret is fitted with a laser rangefinder, fire control system with lead and tracking, Gen 1 green thermals, 1x/10x zoom, laser warning system, and smoke grenades. This vehicle features a single addon: Bulldozer. The Bulldozer addon costs 250 points and deploys a clearing blade specifically when the vehicle is in first gear, enabling the safe clearance of enemy mines during slow-speed advances.
