- Description
- The LAV-AD is a Self Propelled Anti Aircraft vehicle based on the LAV chassis, armed with a 25mm GAU-12U rotary cannon and FIM-92K Stinger missiles for short-range air defence. The USMC used a small number of LAV-AD to protect mobile forces. In-game it weighs 13.4 tonnes with a crew of three and is wheeled and amphibious (4 km/h). The Detroit 6V53T gives 300 hp, 22.4 hp/t, and 100 km/h.
The GAU-12U has 385-round magazines (HEI and HVAP) with overheat after 150 rounds in 20 s; the Stinger has eight rounds with 4 s reload. The gunner has a laser rangefinder, FCS with lead and tracking, and Gen 2 white thermals. The turret is stabilised and carries smoke grenades.
