- The LAV-25 is an Armoured Personnel Carrier and the primary infantry variant of the US LAV (Light Armoured Vehicle) family, armed with a 25mm M242 Bushmaster and used for reconnaissance and mechanised infantry. The LAV-25 entered USMC service in the 1980s and has seen wide export. In-game it weighs 12.9 tonnes with seating for nine (driver, gunner, commander, six passengers) and is wheeled and amphibious (4 km/h). The Detroit 6V53T diesel produces 300 hp for 23.3 hp/t and 100 km/h.
The Bushmaster has 210-round magazines (M792 and M791); a coaxial and commander’s 7.62mm M240 provide backup. The gunner has an 8x sight only; the commander’s turret is stabilised with 1x. Smoke grenades are fitted. This Vehicle features three addons: Improved Ammunition, Airdrop and Armoured Glass. The Improved Ammunition addon costs 500 points and replaces the LAV-25's stock M791 APDS with M919 DU APFSDS; this significantly increases the Bushmaster's effectiveness against armor by providing a 21 mm increase in maximum penetration (from 81 mm to 102 mm) and a 2x spall multiplier. The Airdrop addon costs 2,000 points and allows the vehicle to deploy at almost any location on the map, enabling flanking maneuvers or the capture of distant enemy objectives. Finally, the Armoured Glass addon costs 250 points and installs protective transparent shielding around the turret hatches, offering the commander and gunner a degree of protection against small arms fire while operating in an unbuttoned position.
