- Description
- The KV-2 is an Assault Gun based on the Soviet KV-1 heavy tank chassis, fitted with a massive box-shaped turret mounting a 152mm M-10T howitzer for destroying fortifications and strongpoints. It saw limited use in the Winter War and early Second World War; its tall silhouette and slow turret traverse made it vulnerable, but the 152 mm round was devastating when it hit. In-game it is a tracked vehicle weighing 52.4 tonnes with a crew of five and a V-2K diesel producing 600 horsepower for 11.5 hp/t and 34 km/h top speed.
The main gun fires PB-35 and OF-530 with a 33-second reload; a coaxial 7.62mm DT-28 and DT-28s in the loader and bow positions provide close-in defense. The loader and bow gunner turrets are stabilized. Sights are 2.5x telescope and periscope with no rangefinder.
