- Description
- The Desert Warrior is an Infantry Fighting Vehicle, a British export variant of the FV510 Warrior fitted with an American turret carrying the 25mm M242 Bushmaster and BGM-71C I-TOW missiles, developed for Kuwait and other Gulf customers. It weighs 29 tonnes with a crew of three and seven passengers, and is tracked. The Perkins CV-8 diesel produces 550 hp for 19 hp/t and a top speed of 75 km/h in both directions, with neutral steering.
The turret has a stabilizer, smoke grenades, 7.62mm M240 coaxial, and a fire control system with laser rangefinder, lead, and Gen 2 green thermals (3.3x–10x). The commander has a stabilized sight with laser and 2x–8x zoom.
