The BTR-82A is an Armoured Personnel Carrier and a modernized variant of the Soviet-era BTR-80, with a new 30mm 2A72 cannon in a stabilized turret and improved optics. It entered Russian service in the 2010s and is widely used by Russian and allied forces. The 15 t wheeled vehicle carries a driver, gunner, commander, and six passengers and is amphibious at 9 km/h, with a top road speed of 90 km/h. The KamAZ 740.14-300 diesel produces 300 hp for 20 hp/t.
The 30mm 2A72 and 7.62mm PKT are in a stabilized turret with smoke grenades. The gunner has a laser rangefinder and FCS with 6x–19x zoom; the commander has a stabilized sight with 15x laser. Light armour and mobility are balanced for the APC role.
This vehicle features a single available upgrade: Improved Ammunition. Costing 500 points, this addon upgrades the stock 3URB8 APDS to 3URB11 APFSDS, increasing maximum penetration by 15 mm (from 82 mm to 97 mm).
