- The Pz IV H is a Medium Tank and the main production variant of the Panzer IV, Germany’s most numerous tank of the Second World War; the Ausf. H entered service in 1943 with reinforced armour and the potent 75 mm L/48 gun. Weighing 26 tonnes, it is crewed by five: driver, gunner, bow gunner, commander, and loader. The MB HL120 TRM diesel produces 296 hp for 11.4 hp/t and a top speed of 39 km/h.
Primary armament is the 75 mm KwK40 L48 with HE, PzGr 40, and PzGr 39, plus a coaxial 7.92mm MG34; commander and bow gunners have stabilized 7.92mm MG34 mounts. The gunner’s telescope is 2.5x with no rangefinder or stabilizer; the vehicle relies on hull-down tactics and supporting infantry to offset its modest mobility and armour. This vehicle features a single addon: Additional Armour. The Additional Armour addon costs 500 points and equips the vehicle with specialized plate armor on the hull sides and turret; this provides a vital secondary layer of protection specifically designed to defeat incoming chemical munitions and HEAT-based warheads.
