- Description
- The M901ITV is an Anti Tank Missile Carrier, officially the M901 Improved Tow Vehicle (ITV), based on the M113 armoured personnel carrier and introduced by the US Army in the late 1970s. It replaced the earlier M966 TOW carrier with an elevated launcher that could fire from defilade without exposing the hull. The 11.8-tonne tracked vehicle is crewed by a driver, commander, and two passengers, and is powered by a 6V53 diesel producing 212 hp for 18 hp/t and a top speed of 64 km/h.
The main armament is the BGM-71A TOW wire-guided anti-tank missile, with two ready rounds and eight in reserve; an optional I-TOW addon upgrades missile type. The commander has a dual-magnification sight (3x and 13x) with Gen 1 red thermals and smoke grenades. There is no laser rangefinder or stabilizer.
