- Description
- The VT1-2 is a Tank Destroyer based on the German Versuchsträger 1-2 (VT = Versuchsträger, “experimental vehicle”), a 1970s testbed that mounted two 120mm Rh120 L/44 guns in a single turret to explore rate of fire and hunter-killer tactics; only two prototypes were built. In-game it is a tracked vehicle weighing 43.5 tonnes with a crew of three — driver, gunner, and commander — and features active suspension (pitch only). The MTU MB 803 Ra-500 diesel produces 1,500 horsepower for 34.5 hp/t and a top speed of 70 km/h forward and 40 km/h backward, with neutral steering.
One 120 mm gun is manually loaded and the other is fed by an autoloader; the gunner has a laser rangefinder, fire control system with lead and tracking, and 2x/8x zoom. The vehicle has no smoke grenades or engine smoke and relies on firepower and mobility.
