- The T-34E is a Medium Tank and an uparmoured variant of the Soviet T-34, the "E" suffix denoting ekranirovanniy (screened) with added armour packages. The T-34 was the Red Army's principal medium tank of the Second World War, and appliqué armour was one of several field upgrades applied to improve survivability. The 30.6-tonne tracked vehicle is crewed by four — driver, gunner, bow gunner, and loader — and powered by a Model V-2-34 diesel producing 500 horsepower for 16.3 hp/t and 55 km/h.
Main armament is the 76mm F-34 gun with a coaxial 7.62mm DT-28; there is no stabilizer or rangefinder, with a simple telescope sight. The extra armour increases protection at the cost of some mobility and distinguishes the E from the baseline T-34.
