- Description
- The T-15 Armata is an Infantry Fighting Vehicle and the heavy IFV of the Russian Armata family, sharing the same chassis and powertrain lineage as the T-14 Armata main battle tank. It was designed to transport and support dismounted infantry while carrying substantial firepower and protection. The 41-tonne tracked vehicle carries a crew of three plus eight passengers and is powered by a 12N360 diesel producing 1,500 horsepower for 36.6 hp/t, with a top speed of 80 km/h in both directions, neutral steering, and an automatic gearbox.
The turret mounts a stabilized 30mm 2A42M autocannon, a 7.62mm PKT, and 9M133 Kornet ATGMs, with laser and missile warning systems, smoke grenades, and an APS with 10 launchers (70–2,000 m/s interception). The vehicle also has an engine smoke system and optional Kinzhal turret addon.
