- The Mi-8AMTSh is a Utility Helicopter, a Russian armed transport variant of the Mi-8 "Hip" series that has served as the backbone of Soviet and Russian rotary-wing logistics and assault since the 1960s; the AMTSh designation indicates an upgraded, multi-role version with weapons options. The helicopter has a crew of two — pilot and co-pilot — and can carry up to 18 passengers for a total seating capacity of 20.
