- Description
- The M1128 MGS (Mobile Gun System) is a wheeled Tank Destroyer and part of the Stryker family, developed to give Stryker brigades a direct-fire 105 mm capability after the cancellation of the M8 AGS. A 105 mm M68A1E4 is mounted in an unmanned, low-profile turret on the 8×8 chassis. The 18.8 t vehicle is crewed by three (driver, gunner, commander) and is powered by a Caterpillar 3126 diesel producing 350 hp for 18.6 hp/t and a road speed of 96 km/h, with active suspension for ride height and pitch.
The M68A1E4 fires M900, M456A2, and M393A3 with a 6 s reload; a 7.62 mm M240 is coaxial. The gunner has a laser rangefinder, Gen 3 green thermals, and FCS with lead; the commander has a CITV with thermals. Stabilizer and smoke grenades are fitted.
