- The Leopard 2A6 is a Main Battle Tank and an upgraded variant of the German Leopard 2 family, distinguished by its lengthened L/55 gun and wedge-shaped appliqué armour on the turret front. The 2A6 entered Bundeswehr service in the early 2000s and has been widely exported; the longer barrel improves muzzle velocity and penetration over the earlier L/44. In-game it is a tracked vehicle weighing 59.9 tonnes, crewed by four — driver, gunner, commander, and loader. The MTU MB 873 Ka-501 diesel delivers 1,500 horsepower for 25 hp/t and a top speed of 72 km/h, with neutral steering and an automatic gearbox.
Main armament is the 120mm Rh120 L/55 cannon with a laser rangefinder, fire control system with lead computation, and Gen 1 green thermals at 3x and 12x zoom. A coaxial 7.62mm MG3 and a loader’s 7.62mm MG3 provide close-in defence; the commander has a stabilised CITV with laser and Gen 2 green thermals. The turret is stabilised and carries smoke grenades.
