- Description
- The Centurion Mk.10 is a Main Battle Tank and a late production variant of the British Centurion, which became one of the most successful post-war Western tanks. The Mk 10 introduced the L7A1 105mm rifled gun and improved armour, remaining in service with several nations for decades. The 51.8 t tracked vehicle is crewed by four — driver, gunner, commander, and loader — and reaches 35 km/h forward and 12 km/h reverse. The Rolls-Royce Meteor 4B diesel produces 650 hp for 12.5 hp/t. Main armament is the stabilized L7A1 105mm with Shot L28A1 and Shell L35, plus a coaxial 7.62mm L3A1. The gunner has 1x and 6x magnification without laser rangefinder; the commander has a stabilized cupola with 6x sight. Smoke grenades are fitted.
