- Description
- The Sd.Kfz.234/2 Puma is a wheeled Reconnaissance Vehicle used by Nazi Germany in the Second World War; the 8-rad armoured car series was prized for long-range patrols and flank security. Weighing 11.7 tonnes, it is crewed by a driver, gunner, commander, and one passenger. The Tatra 103 diesel produces 211 hp for 18 hp/t and a top speed of 90 km/h in both directions.
The turret mounts a 50 mm KwK39 with PzGr 39 and Sprgr. 38, plus a coaxial 7.92mm MG34; smoke grenades are fitted for concealment. The gunner has a 2.5x telescope without rangefinder. Light armour and high speed define the Puma as a scout and raider rather than a frontline fighter.
