- The AW-149 is a Utility Helicopter developed by Leonardo (formerly AgustaWestland) as a medium-lift, multirole platform for military and civil operators. It first flew in the 2000s and has been ordered by several nations for troop transport, medevac, and utility tasks. In its base configuration it has seating for 16 — pilot, co-pilot, and 14 passengers — with no integral armament.
Addons can add a 20mm NC 621 cannon, Miniguns, AGM-114 Hellfire missiles, FZ225 stores, and a missile approach warning system. The pilot has a 0.7× sight for general flying. The AW-149 is widely used where a capable, modern medium helicopter is required without a dedicated attack fit.
