- Description
- The T-84 Oplot-M is a Main Battle Tank and an evolution of the Ukrainian T-84 series, with a new welded turret, improved armour layout, and optional Zaslon active protection system. The T-84 lineage derives from the Soviet T-80UD and has been offered for export since the 2000s. Weighing 51 tonnes with a three-man crew, it is powered by a KMDB 6TD-2 two-stroke diesel producing 1,200 horsepower (23.5 hp/t) and reaches 70 km/h forward and 31 km/h in reverse with neutral steering.
Main armament is the 125 mm KBA-3 smoothbore with a 6-second autoloader cycle, firing APFSDS, HEAT, HE-Frag, and KOMBAT ATGMs; a coaxial 7.62mm PKT and commander’s 12.7mm NSVT are fitted. The vehicle has a laser warning system, stabilizer, smoke grenades, and engine smoke. The gunner has a laser rangefinder, FCS with lead, and second-generation thermals; the commander has a CITV with thermals and FCS. Optional Zaslon APS adds hard-kill protection against incoming projectiles. This vehicle features a single addon: Zaslon APS. The Zaslon APS addon costs 1,000 points and equips the hull sides with the Zaslon Active Protection System, which consists of four specialised launchers, each containing two charges. This system provides defence against incoming chemical energy (CE) rounds and ATGMs approaching from the side, effectively intercepting and neutralising threats before they can make contact with the main armour.
