The T-34 is a Medium Tank and one of the most influential armored vehicles of the Second World War, designed in the Soviet Union and produced in enormous numbers from 1940 onward. Its sloped armour, wide tracks, and 76mm F-34 gun set the template for postwar Soviet tank design. The 30-tonne tracked vehicle is crewed by four — driver, gunner, bow gunner, and loader — and powered by a Model V-2-34 diesel producing 500 horsepower for 16.7 hp/t and 55 km/h.
Main armament is the 76mm F-34 with a coaxial 7.62mm DT-28; the gunner has 2.5x telescope and periscope sights and no stabilizer or rangefinder. The bow gunner operates a second 7.62mm DT-28. The baseline T-34 balances mobility, protection, and firepower and was the backbone of Red Army armored forces before the introduction of the T-34-85.
