The M10 Wolverine is a Tank Destroyer built by the United States during the Second World War on the M4 Sherman chassis, formally designated 3-inch Gun Motor Carriage M10. It was the most numerous American tank destroyer of the war and saw use in North Africa, Italy, and Northwest Europe. Crewed by five — driver, gunner, bow gunner, commander, and loader — the tracked vehicle weighs 30.4 tonnes and is powered by a GM 6046 twin-diesel producing 410 horsepower for 13.5 hp/t and a top speed of 48 km/h.
Main armament is the 76mm M7 cannon with a 3x telescope sight and no rangefinder; the open-topped turret traverses slowly at 6 deg/s. The commander has a stabilized 12.7mm M2 for anti-aircraft and local defense. The M10 traded armour for mobility and firepower, relying on ambush and displacement rather than slugging it out with enemy tanks.
