The conversion was developed to give older T-62 hulls a second life as fire support and anti-armour platforms, similar in concept to the [BMPT Terminator](/md/rv/vehicles/bmpt-terminator.md) but on a lighter, cheaper chassis. A crew of three — driver, gunner, and commander — operates the 30-tonne tracked vehicle, powered by a **ChTZ V-46-5M** diesel (690 hp, 23 hp/t) for 50 km/h. The turret carries a stabilized **30mm 2A42M** autocannon, a **30mm AG-30** grenade launcher, a coaxial **7.62mm PKT**, and a **9M133 Kornet** launcher (9M133 and 9M133F-1 rounds); the gunner has a laser rangefinder, FCS with lead and tracking, Gen 2 thermals, and 2.5x/12x zoom. The commander has a CITV; smoke grenades and engine smoke are fitted.
