Description
: The **Mi-24V** is a Helicopter Gunship and the most produced variant of the Soviet **Mi-24** "Hind," combining transport capacity for eight troops with a fixed **12.7mm YAK-B** rotary machine gun and optional ATGMs and rockets; it entered service in the 1970s and saw extensive combat in Afghanistan and elsewhere. The helicopter has a crew of two — pilot and co-pilot — and can carry up to 8 passengers for a total seating capacity of 10.
The co-pilot operates the stabilized YAK-B with a 1,470-round magazine and a fire control system with lead and tracking and a laser rangefinder at 3.3×–10× zoom; the pilot has a flare dispenser. Optional addons include the **9M114 Shturm** ATGM, **S-8KOM** and **B-13L** rocket pods, **UPK-23** gunpods, an exhaust cooler, an IR jammer, and a "P" variant.
