Description
: The **Merkava Mk.4M** is a Main Battle Tank and an upgraded **Merkava Mk.4** with improved electronics, defensive systems, and the **Trophy** active protection system; the Merkava family has been the backbone of Israeli armored forces since the late 1970s, with the Mk.4 entering service in 2004. The vehicle is tracked, weighs 81.4 tonnes, and is crewed by four — driver, gunner, commander, and loader — and is powered by an **MTU 12V883** diesel engine producing 1,500 horsepower for an 18.4 hp/t power-to-weight ratio and a symmetric top speed of 64 km/h forward and reverse, with neutral steering and an automatic gearbox.
The main armament is the **120mm IMI MG251** smoothbore with a 5-second reload and M338, M339, DM12A1, and **LAHAT** ATGM ammunition, plus a coaxial **7.62mm FN MAG 60-40**; the loader has a roof-mounted **60mm Soltam** mortar for smoke and blast-frag. The turret has a two-plane stabilizer, laser and missile warning systems, smoke grenades, and a fire control system with lead and tracking, laser rangefinder, and Gen 2 green thermals; the commander has a CITV with laser and thermals. The Trophy APS uses two launchers with three charges each, intercepting projectiles between 70 and 1,000 m/s, and the vehicle is fitted with IED and drone jammers (no engine smoke system).
This vehicle features a single addon: **.50 Coaxial**. The .50 Coaxial addon costs 250 points and equips the gunner with an additional 12.7mm M2 machine gun, significantly improving the tank's effectiveness against infantry and obstructing foliage.
