The original M48 entered U.S. service in the 1950s; the “Super” configuration brings it closer to early Cold War MBT standards. Weighing 53 tonnes, it is crewed by four — driver, gunner, commander, and loader — and is tracked. The **MTU MB 837 Ka-501** diesel produces 1,000 horsepower for 18.9 hp/t, with a top speed of 56 km/h in both directions, neutral steering, and an automatic transmission. Main armament is the **L7A3 105 mm** rifled gun with APFSDS and HEAT; a coaxial and a commander’s **7.62 mm MG3** provide secondary fire. The turret has a stabilizer, a fire control system with lead computation, a laser rangefinder, and Gen 1 green thermals (12x day and 7.12°/2.37° thermal fields of view). This vehicle features a single addon: **DM33**. The DM33 addon costs 500 points and replaces the stock DM23 with the DM33 APFSDS; this shell offers a 74 mm increase in maximum penetration (from 334 mm to 408 mm), significantly boosting the overall lethality of the tank.
