Description
: The **M18 Hellcat** is a Tank Destroyer built by the United States during the Second World War, prized for its high speed and low profile rather than heavy armour. It was one of the fastest tracked armored vehicles of the war, using a lightweight hull and a powerful engine to outpace enemy tanks and reposition quickly. Crewed by five — driver, gunner, bow gunner, commander, and loader — the vehicle weighs 17.7 tonnes and is powered by a **Continental R975-C4** radial engine producing 460 horsepower for a 26 hp/t power-to-weight ratio and a top speed of 80 km/h.
Main armament is the **76mm M1** cannon with 4x and 8x telescope sights and no rangefinder; the commander’s position is stabilized and mounts a **12.7mm M2** machine gun for anti-aircraft and local defense. The main gun has no stabilizer, and the vehicle relies on speed and agility to survive on the battlefield.
