Description
: The **Ka-52M Alligator-M** is an Attack Helicopter and a modernized variant of the **Ka-52 Alligator**, the tandem-seat, co-axial rotor gunship developed by Kamov for the Russian Armed Forces. The M (modernized) upgrade brings improved sensors, weapons, and survivability; the Alligator entered service in the 2010s and the M variant was developed to extend its service life. The helicopter is crewed by a pilot and co-pilot/gunner.
The co-pilot turret mounts a stabilized **30mm 2A42M** cannon and **9M127M Vikhr-1** ATGMs, with a laser rangefinder, third-generation white-hot thermals, and a fire control system with lead and tracking (1.2x–60x zoom). Defensive equipment includes a laser warning system and missile approach warning system. Optional addons include B-13L rocket pods and UPK-23 gunpods for increased firepower.
