Description
: The **T-34-57** is a Medium Tank and a T-34 variant armed with the high-velocity **57mm ZiS-4** anti-tank gun instead of the standard **76mm F-34**. The 57 mm gun was developed for improved penetration against early-war German armour; production was limited and the type was later superseded by the 85 mm upgrade. The 30-tonne tracked vehicle is crewed by four and powered by a **Model V-2-34** diesel (500 hp, 16.7 hp/t) for 55 km/h.
The **57mm ZiS-4** has a 5.3-second reload and is paired with a coaxial **7.62mm DT-28**; the gunner has 2.5x telescope and periscope sights and no stabilizer. The T-34-57 trades explosive effect and hull-kill potential for higher penetration and a faster cycle, favoring anti-armour duels over infantry support.
